for Natural Hair & Skin Restoration in Burlington

PLATELET RICH PLASMA

At Luna Med Spa, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy is a foundational, results-driven treatment rooted in regenerative medicine. Using your body’s own growth factors, PRP stimulates cellular renewal and tissue repair. Performed by our expert Nurse Injectors, we leverage PRP's proven versatility to address two primary concerns: Hair Restoration and comprehensive Skin Rejuvenation for treating scars, fine lines, and uneven texture. PRP offers a safe, natural path to revitalization with minimal downtime.

PRP for Natural Hair Restoration and Follicle Stimulation

PRP is widely recognized as one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for thinning hair and pattern hair loss (Androgenetic Alopecia). The concentrated growth factors in PRP work directly on dormant hair follicles to kickstart the growth cycle.

The Hair Restoration Mechanism

The injection of activated PRP directly into the scalp delivers a powerful dose of bioactive proteins to the hair root. These growth factors prolong the anagen (growth) phase of the hair cycle, increase blood supply to the follicle, and thicken the diameter of existing hair strands. We provide customized treatment plans, typically involving an initial series of sessions, to restore density and health.

Ideal Candidates for PRP Hair Treatment

PRP is highly effective for both men and women who are experiencing early stages of hair loss, hair thinning, or a receding hairline. It is a safe option for patients seeking a natural treatment solution to improve scalp health and hair density without relying on surgical intervention or daily pharmaceuticals.

Skin Rejuvenation: The PRP "Facial" and Scar Treatment

Beyond the scalp, PRP is a powerful tool for improving the overall quality, texture, and elasticity of facial and body skin.

Addressing Scars and Texture

PRP is highly effective when combined with micro-needling (often referred to as a PRP Facial) to treat textural issues. The micro-injuries created by the device allow the PRP to deeply penetrate the dermis, where the growth factors aggressively stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. This process significantly improves the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, and enlarged pores.

Reducing Fine Lines and Improving Glow

For aging skin, PRP injections can be used to treat areas like the cheeks, neck, and décolletage. The therapy naturally enhances skin tone and radiance by delivering concentrated nutrients, which aids in cellular turnover and diminishes the visibility of fine lines and crepey skin.

The Safe and Certified PRP Process at Luna Med Spa

As a medical aesthetic clinic, patient safety and comfort are our highest priority during PRP procedures.

Preparation and Activation

The treatment begins with a standard blood draw performed by a Registered Nurse. The blood is then processed in a Health Canada-approved centrifuge to isolate the highly concentrated Platelet-Rich Plasma layer. The platelets are then activated prior to or upon injection to ensure maximum therapeutic benefit.

Treatment Duration and Recovery

A typical PRP session takes approximately 45–60 minutes, depending on the area being treated (e.g., scalp vs. face). Downtime is minimal, generally involving temporary redness or minor swelling at the injection sites for 12 to 24 hours. Full results develop gradually as collagen and hair follicles are naturally stimulated. Optional Exosome treatment can be applied to assist in your recovery process.
