Why Choose Us

Deep Skin Hydration That Works from Within Burlington's Skin Booster Specialists

Because of their unique character and clinically verified results, skin boosters have become one of our most popular therapies. They can be accurately described as a moisturizer that is injected directly under the top layer of the skin.

Similar to topical moisturizers, skin boosters are designed to hydrate your skin, but with significantly deeper, longer-lasting results. The treatment involves a thin dermal filler that is distributed across an area of the skin with a needle or cannula.

Skin boosters can help rejuvenate your skin, regardless of your skin type, age, gender, or current treatment regimen.

How it works

The Science of Injectable Hydration

Swipe to explore

Specialized Hyaluronic Acid

Skin boosters are dermal fillers that use a special kind of hyaluronic acid. Health Canada-authorized brands include Restylane® Skinboosters, BELOTERO® Revive, Revanesse® Renew™ and Pure, SkinVive by JUVÉDERM®, Teosyal® Redensity 1, and Croma® Revitalis. Unlike traditional fillers intended to contour or add structural volume, this thin filler is distributed evenly to flood the skin with moisture from within. Clients often describe their skin as feeling smoother, and more hydrated within days of treatment, a quality no serum or cream has been able to replicate.

Natural Integration

It works to smooth the skin, improve elasticity, and refresh your overall appearance by integrating naturally into the skin tissue. Because of this deep integration, clinical research shows the hydrating effects can last up to 6 months. Most clients notice an initial glow within the first week, with peak hydration and elasticity improvements visible at around 4–6 weeks as the HA fully integrates into the skin.

Common Treatment Areas

Swipe to explore

Face (Lower Cheek & Jawline)

The lower cheeks and jawline are among the first areas to show the subtle signs of skin quality decline, not necessarily volume loss, but a gradual loss of bounce, plumpness, and radiance that makes the skin look less alive than it once did. Skin boosters injected across this area distribute hyaluronic acid evenly through the deeper layers of the dermis, restoring moisture from within and improving the skin's ability to hold hydration over time. The result isn't a structural change, it's a quiet, visible improvement in skin quality that makes your complexion look genuinely healthy rather than cosmetically altered. Clients often describe their skin feeling softer and more supple within days, with a natural glow that builds progressively over the following weeks.

Upper Neck

The neck is one of the most frequently neglected areas in aesthetic treatment, yet it's often the first place to betray signs of ageing that the face has been carefully treated for. The skin on the neck is thinner, produces less oil, and has fewer sebaceous glands than facial skin, making it particularly vulnerable to dryness, crepiness, and horizontal banding. Skin boosters are one of the most effective treatments available for this area, delivering deep dermal hydration that improves texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality in a region where fillers and neurotoxins have limited application. Many clients who invest in facial treatments find that adding skin boosters to the neck creates a seamless, cohesive result from face to décolletage. It's one of the most impactful, and most underutilised, treatment areas we offer at Luna.

Back of the Hands

Your hands are impossible to hide, and yet they're one of the most overlooked areas in a skincare and aesthetic routine. As we age, the skin on the back of the hands thins, loses moisture, and begins to show prominent tendons, veins, and a crepey, papery texture that can add years to an otherwise well-maintained appearance. Skin boosters injected into the hands restore deep dermal hydration, improving skin thickness, smoothness, and elasticity in a way that hand creams simply cannot replicate. The treatment is quick, requires no significant downtime, and produces a subtle but genuinely meaningful improvement, hands that look softer, smoother, and more youthful without any structural alteration. For clients in Burlington and the Halton Region who are already treating their face, adding hand rejuvenation is one of the smartest ways to ensure your overall appearance feels consistent and complete.

Overall Dullness & Wrinkles

When the concern isn't one specific area but a general loss of radiance, vitality, and smoothness across the skin, skin boosters used as a full-face or multi-area treatment deliver results that are difficult to achieve any other way. Fine lines caused by dehydration, particularly the small, criss-crossing lines that appear when skin is chronically dry, respond especially well to deep injectable hydration, softening noticeably as the hyaluronic acid integrates and draws moisture into the surrounding tissue. Beyond lines, the overall tone and luminosity of the skin improves as cellular hydration increases, giving the complexion a healthy, rested quality that neither skincare products nor surface treatments can fully replicate. For clients whose skin looks tired, flat, or dull regardless of what they apply topically, skin boosters are often the missing piece, addressing the concern at its root rather than managing it at the surface.

Décolletage

The chest and décolletage are exposed to the same sun, environmental stressors, and collagen loss as the face and neck, yet they rarely receive the same level of treatment attention. Fine lines, crepey texture, and uneven pigmentation across the décolletage can significantly affect how put-together and youthful the overall appearance feels, particularly in lower necklines. Skin boosters distributed across this area restore deep dermal hydration, improve skin texture, and create a smoother, more even surface that complements facial and neck treatments beautifully. Treating the face, neck, and décolletage together is the most cohesive approach to full upper-body skin rejuvenation, and one your RN can plan as a single integrated session.

Under-Eye Area

The skin under the eyes is the thinnest on the face, and one of the first to show signs of dehydration, fine lines, and a crepe-like texture that no eye cream seems able to fully address. Skin boosters placed carefully in this delicate area deliver hyaluronic acid precisely where the skin's moisture reserves are most depleted, improving hydration, texture, and overall skin quality without adding the volume that traditional tear trough filler provides. This makes skin boosters an excellent option for clients who have mild under-eye concerns and want improvement in skin quality rather than structural correction, or for those who want to maintain their tear trough filler results between treatments. Ask your RN whether skin boosters, PRF, or a combination approach is best suited to your specific under-eye concern.

Skin Boosters: Are You a Good Candidate?

Skin boosters have one of the broadest candidacy profiles of any treatment we offer at Luna, they're suitable for almost every skin type, age, and gender. That said, the right product, depth, and technique still depends on your individual skin concerns and health history.Good to Know: Skin Boosters vs. Dermal FillersThese two treatments are often confused, and they serve very different purposes. Dermal fillers add volume and structure to specific areas. Skin boosters distribute hydration evenly throughout the skin to improve overall quality, glow, and elasticity. Many clients benefit from both, your RN will help you understand which is right for your concerns, or whether a combined approach makes sense for your skin goals.Good to Know: How Many Sessions Will I Need? Most clients see meaningful improvement after a single session, with optimal results after 2–3 treatments spaced 4–6 weeks apart. A maintenance session every 6 months keeps results consistent year-round. Your RN will recommend a plan based on your skin's starting point and your goals.

During your complimentary consultation at Luna Med Spa, one of our Registered Nurses will assess your anatomy, skin quality, and goals before recommending any treatment. Here's a general guide to help you prepare.

You're Likely a Great Candidate If...

Your skin feels persistently dry, dull, or rough despite a consistent skincare routine
You're noticing fine lines, crepey texture, or a loss of plumpness that topical products aren't improving
You want to improve overall skin quality, hydration, elasticity, and glow, rather than add volume or alter structure
Your skin has been affected by sun exposure, seasonal dryness, or environmental stressors
You're looking for a low-downtime treatment that fits into a busy schedule
You want to complement existing treatments, skin boosters pair exceptionally well with anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, or biostimulators
You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
You are in good general health with no active skin infections near the treatment area

You May Need to Wait or Discuss With Us If...

You are pregnant or breastfeeding
You have a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine, most skin booster formulations contain both
You have active acne breakouts, cold sores, skin infection, or open wounds near the planned treatment area
You are taking blood thinners or high-dose NSAIDs, these increase bruising risk; discuss with your prescribing physician before pausing
You are looking for significant volume restoration or structural lifting, skin boosters hydrate and improve skin quality but are not a substitute for dermal fillers or biostimulators where structural correction is needed
You have had recent laser resurfacing, chemical peels, or other skin treatments, your RN will advise on the appropriate waiting period
