Men's Skin & Wellness: Man Maintenance
A Medical Aesthetics Guide to Looking Less Tired, More You: Thinning hair, tired eyes, a softer jawline, here's your no-nonsense guide to fixing it.

Before You Read On
- You don't need a ten-step routine. You need to know what actually works for the two or three things that bother you.
- Thinning hair, forehead lines, a soft jawline, and tired eyes are the four things guys ask us about most, and all four are treatable.
- Most of these treatments take 30–45 minutes, need little to no downtime, and are designed to make you look like a rested version of yourself, not a different guy.
- Everything here is done by Registered Nurses (RN/RPN), under the medical direction of NP-PHC, MScN.
- Skip to whichever section applies to you, you don't need to read this cover to cover.
Why This Guide Exists
You're not imagining it. Your hairline is a little further back than it used to be. Your forehead holds a line even when your face is relaxed. Your jaw doesn't look as sharp in photos. You're getting the same amount of sleep and still look tired. None of that means you're falling apart, it means your body is doing what bodies do, and there's more you can do about it than you probably think.
This guide covers the four things men ask us about most, plainly explained: what's actually happening, and what can be done about it. No pressure to do anything on this list, just straight information so you can make your own call.
Your Hair Is Thinning
Most male hair thinning comes down to genetics and hormones, specifically, hair follicles becoming more sensitive to a byproduct of testosterone over time. It usually starts subtly: a widening part, more hair in the shower drain, a hairline that's crept back an inch. Left alone, it tends to progress gradually.
PRF and PRP hair treatments use the growth factors from your own blood, spun down and reinjected into the scalp, to support circulation and follicle health. It won't reverse years of loss overnight, but for many men it slows the thinning and improves the density and thickness of the hair you still have. It's done in-clinic, uses your own blood (nothing synthetic), and needs no real downtime.
Your Forehead Holds a Line Even When You're Not Making a Face
This one is mechanical: the muscles in your forehead and between your brows contract every time you frown, concentrate, or squint into the sun. Do that enough times over enough years and the crease stops fully relaxing, even at rest. It's the single most common reason guys tell us they look “angrier” or “more tired” than they feel.
Anti-wrinkle injections (neuromodulator treatment) work by temporarily relaxing the specific muscle causing the line. Done well, nobody can tell you've had anything done, you just stop holding that expression. Most men need a slightly higher dose than women because of stronger facial muscles, and results typically last three to four months.
Your Jawline Isn't as Sharp as It Used to Be, Maybe Chin is flat?
A softer jawline usually comes from a mix of two things: gradual volume loss along the jaw itself, and fullness building up underneath the chin. Genetics, age, and weight all play a role, and it's rarely something you can fix with the gym alone.
Dermal fillers and biostimulators can rebuild structure and definition along the jawline itself. If the issue is more about fullness under the chin, PCDC lipolysis is an injectable treatment that gradually breaks down that fat over a series of sessions. Many men do a combination of both, depending on what a consultation reveals about where the issue actually is.
You Look Tired Even When You're Not
Hollowing and thinning skin under the eyes is one of the first places facial aging shows up, and it's not always about sleep, genetics and simple volume loss play a bigger role than most guys expect. It's also one of the most noticeable things to other people, since it's the first place someone looks when they talk to you.
Skin boosters and PRF add hydration and support skin quality in this specific area, which softens the hollow, shadowed look without changing your face. It's subtle by design, the goal is for people to say you look “rested,” not to ask what you did.
You're Running on Empty
Energy and recovery aren't just about sleep and diet, though those still matter most. Some men run low on specific nutrients that are harder to get enough of through food alone, especially with a demanding schedule, heavy training, or a stressful stretch at work.
Our vitamin therapy menu includes B12 Methylcobalamin, NAD+, Glutathione, MICC, and Vitamin D3, delivered by IV or injection. These aren't a replacement for sleep, food, or exercise, but for the right person, they can be a useful piece of the recovery picture.
At a Glance
A consultation makes sense if you:
- Want to know what's actually causing something you've noticed in the mirror, before deciding whether to do anything about it.
- Are curious about one specific thing on this list, not a full overhaul.
- Have never done anything like this before and want it explained without the sales pitch.
- Want a plan that fits your schedule, with little to no downtime.
Worth mentioning at your consultation:
- Any history of keloid scarring, active skin infections, or bleeding disorders.
- Blood thinners or other medications you're currently taking.
- Anything you've tried before that didn't work, so we don't repeat it.
“Most guys come in pointing at one specific thing, the forehead line, the jaw, the hairline, not asking for a makeover. We tell you honestly whether it's worth doing, and what to expect if it is.”
Our Registered Nurses (RN/RPN), under the medical direction of Nurse Practitioner, will walk through what you're noticing and give you a straight answer about what's worth doing, and what isn't.
